I filed I-485 in Nov. 2007 and waiting.... :(
Problem is I noticed that name of my father in my passport is reversed example it shows <lastName> then <FirstName>.
But in my birth certificate it is vice versa <FirstName> then <lastName>....
I got the RFE in July 2009 for my date of birth certificate which I have provided to USCIS mentioning father name as in my birth certificate i.e. <FirstName> then <lastName>.
I renewed my passport in April 2010 and corrected father name, but in all the old forms before RFE, my father name shows as <lastName> then <FirstName>.
Will it be issue, I am frustrated and worried on what to do, is it going to have major impact on my GC processing as all the forms I have submitted to USCIS and my passport have my father name as <lastName> then
<FirstName>.
Please suggest I am very worried...

Just a quick comment on S4165504 reply based on my experiences that I posted before on the same thread.
The airport immigration counter or the CPB offices can correct only the mistakes from their side, and that too only within 2 or 3 days. But for cases where the I-94 expired, they dont consider it as a mistake on their side and immediately ask you to leave.
In fact, for my case when I called the LA airport immigration counter office, they adviced me that I can only go to the CPB office in downtown for any corrections and cannot come to the airport office.

I have sent an email to the Embassy today, enquiring about the status of my application and finally, for the very first time, received a response saying it will be checked into. I hope to hear that they have already mailed it out.

Fashion models and nurses have one thing in common. Both professions are dominated by females. I think the Congress critters (mostly elderly males) are simply looking for new exotic foreign opportunities. Dates with Java programmers? Not so interesting, sorry! :p

A freind of mine had two years EAD and don't have H1 anymore. His drivers License was denied as EAD is not considered a valid document for drivers License extention.
This happened in Wayne , NJ.
I too will be going for the renewal soon. Did anyone else faced similar situtation. If yes, how did they resolve?
I used My EAD for license extention in East Brunswick DMV in NJ on Rt 18. They extended till EAD expiration date + 3months. I had 1 year EAD. This was back in Apr, 08.

I am starting this thread for people who are still waiting for their I-140 approvals.
There is a thread about the delay in I-140 approvals at TSC. However, from what I can tell by looking at data, NSC is worse than TSC.
The processing dates suggest that NSC is looking at March 2007 I-140 applications. But thats what they have been saying for the last three months.
In December 07, the processing dates for NSC EB3 were at January 2007.
In July 2008, the processing dates (NSC, EB3) are at March 2007.
We are witnessing the birth of another 'backlog elimination center.' This must be pointed out, so that there is a chance that this could be stopped.

I find it wise to pay my lawyer to find the correct information for me.... be it from USCIS website or from her professional knowledge base. Believe it or not, I trust a qualified professional more than myself when it comes to a subject outside of my expertise...:D

I would suggest to build a wind mill and generate own power next winter :D
My a** was burned with big electricity bill last winter when I was in apartment . If I put 70 hall will be very hot and bed room will be very cold. If I put 75 bed room is ok but people in hall are sweating. No proper control because of poor maitenance and also the apartment location.
You will be surprised I am paying less power bill now in new house of 2500 SQFT than I was paying in 1100 SQFT apartment (with no one at home from 8 AM to 6 PM and all lights off by 10.30 PM).
I am repeating myself, most of the times it is because of the poor maintenance of the heating system. That causes the system to run all the time.Ask how long ago the management did maintenance to the heating system (not just replacing the filter twice a year which doesn't do anything other than clean air)

Just expressing my opinion. I too feel its not good idea to involve Indian Consulate, just coz we are in course of becoming a permanent resident of a different country and it has nothing to do with our Indian citizenship.

We travelled to India and Canada on AP. Didn't get questioned while entering from India but from Canada, they asked us why we went and when we mentioned 'vacation', they advised us to not use our parole for such cases...I guess going to the home country should not pose any issues.

I would try downloading the software update from nikon and reinstalling it to see what happens.. it is fairly simple.. there are "A" and a "B" programs that need to be loaded independently... the instructions on the site are straightforward... I have had D-70 since they came out and have had no problems.... If your local retailer will not stand behind the camera it seems nikon should... isn't there a year nikon warrenty?
