Performance note: just thought someone might want to know what kinda performance I getting.
Computer: 2010 i7 15" macbook pro
Res: 1680x1050
Graphics settings ultra ( highest it goes )
perfectly playable it only starts to stutter under heavy battle scenes and you can fix that by dropping back down to high settings.
the only thing that was not set to ultra is the textures which were set correctly according to SC2 for a 512vram gpu
also its perfectly playable with everything set to high on the native res of a 24" LED ACD 1920x1200

I think the Mini and Macbook will go C2D at the same time and this will be at the same time or just shortly after the Macbook Pro. With MBP line, I would expect the slowest CPU offering to be the 2.16GHz with an option of a 2.33GHz upgrade and the 2.33 will probably be standard on the 17". The Mini and Macbook will probably get the 1.6GHz and 1.83GHz C2D chips with an option to upgrade to the 2GHz C2D. At the 2GHz mark, it's still Core 2, but has half the cache and still a notch slower than MBP offerings. MBP may also have a 2GHz offering, but it will be the 4MB L2 cache chip.
Considering the Mini got bumped lately do you reckon that's very likely?

I live in Arizona and we don't follow daylight savings time, but my phone jumped an hour ahead. I'm on AT&T btw
Set your phone & computer's time zone to Arizona time, and sync again. Does that help?
I just restarted my phone and it fixed its self

Apps all run in the same format and screen size. Even the new retina display is only an enlargement of the original format, but shown at the higher resolution. Apps running on the iPad run at the native format, or specifically for the iPad format, which is different code.
If Apple introduced a different sized screen, that would be a pain to the installed base and app developer. For this reason, I don't think it is true.
Not a very good argument IMO... They could maintain the same resolution and have a smaller or larger screen size.

Sounds a bit redundent given my Samsung TV, Sony Bluray, Humax PVR, XBox 360, Windows PC and my macs (with Twonky installed) already all play nicely together without needing a new standard.
and look at how many devices you have to do that lol

Several months ago, we noted (http://www.macrumors.com/iphone/2010/10/27/garmin-considering-developing-gps-applications-for-ios/) that major GPS company Garmin was considering developing iOS applications after abandoning its partnership with ASUS to produce Garmin-branded phones, and it now appears that Garmin has followed through on those plans.

If taxation is designed to ween us from foreign oil and clean-up the atmosphere, then a gas tax is perfect. Otherwise, it needs to be based on miles driven somehow (perhaps along with a weight multiplier).
Hi mstrze,
The system in the UK was altered as a gesture to reducing total carbon dioxide emission. Being the UK it took the car route - big car, must be rich, easy target - rather than loading the fuel price - more votes to be lost making high use small car owners pay their fair share.
Much of the damage here seems to be caused by cable and utility companies, and the weather. Tax the companies plus strict completion time and quality requirements? A lot of bad patch jobs injuring motorcyclists and cyclists, even before they become potholes.
Highway miles? The old chestnut is tolls.
Cheers,
OW

T-Mobile requires AWS specifically which is not just 2100mhz. AT&T operates on 1900/2100. T-Mobile is 1700/2100 so it would need a new radio, if not a new radio ROM.

And Republicans are reknowned for being on the bread-line?!:D
Yeah, didn't you know? Bush lost MILLIONS in oil investments and Cheney is practically broke from the no-bid contracts Halliburton got during their administration. In fact, Condoleezza Rice had a hard time buying thousands of dollars in Ferragamo shoes on Fifth Ave while on vacation during Katrina, "How Condi Rice Spent the Storm" (http://www.counterpunch.org/mabry05152007.html).

I got no good answer for you Lee, I didn't vote for that party. Maybe the minority position of the last two conservative government gave them a softer image than before, maybe it was due to the lack of a strong Liberal leadership, maybe people were tired of going to the polls and wanted a 4 year break... I got 'nothin. :o
I think the points that I bolded are the main reasons.
A Liberal still won in my old riding (Toronto Centre), and a Conservative won in my family's riding which is usually Liberal (I think there were some non-political factors going on there).

I have always gamed on laptops - M17x, M11x, MBP, VAIO Z... list goes on and on. Add the Air to that list now. The 320M is a very capable chip and it can play many modern games at medium settings smoothly.
The way you describe laptop chipsets makes you sound like you've only ever tried laptop gaming with a GMA500 :p

I didn't know about the discounting, makes it all the more sweeter! I don't follow Pop Factor, couldn't even name any previous winners. Somebody in work was talking about Alex somebody, it made them laugh when I asked 'who's he' (apparently he's a she?) I had to look up the Steve Brookstein reference! God I'm getting old!
I would be interested to see the breakdown of how much the artist received after the writer, Cowell, Sony, publisher, distributor etc etc etc have taken their cut.

I wonder what the IO performance of the reader is and what a 64GB drive might manage.
Something I'd like to see is a rackmount SDXC RAID array. Think how many sd slots would fit in a 1U array. I know, probably won't happen, but still interesting to see.

What will the future of air travel holds?
1. Boomless supersonic jet (NYC to LAX in 2.5 hours).
2. inexpensive jetblue/southwest flight in continent, price point $200 round trip, todays money of course
3. weight/bag restriction to increase fuel economy-saving us money
4. packing sardines even tighter allowing more seats (I hope this will not come to pass).
5. computer/machine pilot (yes, they can handle landing and take-off)--eliminating overpaid pilots and terrorism too
6. no food service (don't worry no one will starve to death, we are in a middle of a obesity epidemic for god sake)- saving weight and money
7. reduce flight attendance by at least 50% (no food see above), and add a "useful" security guard to control rowdy passenger - saving us money
If you can't reduce the weight of a LCD or OLED or whatever screen, don't add it to every seats. I think the future is clear and it looks like it will diverge into two paths. 1) basic travel that allows people to do it more frequently or 2) travel in comfort and pay more thus less frequent travel. I'm not talking about first class travel here.
Think about it, wouldn't you want to travel anywhere in the US more frequently say 7+ times a year, or 1 or 2 times a year and have all the amenities (meal, iPod, movies and overpaid pilots)?
Tune in your fear and imagine the possibility with me:D

9. You can't take that piece of electronics through sir. It could be used by trrrrrroooooiiiisssts [think Team 'merica here].

Good point there! I think Apple may in fact be more likely to not want anyone else to get control and 'bastardize' the use. I think it would be good for Apple to gain 'ownership' but not to exert the right that this might entail.
That's the trouble with trademarks, they are use-it-or-lose-it propositions. You can't simply hold them in trust without actively defending them :(

6/gallon here in he UK, or 1.32/L
Remember a US Gallon is different than a UK one. So it's closer to 5 or around $8. Still awfully high, but not quite as bad as some make out.
