web applications that don't require install of real programs, then I'll grant "mac-users" that one.
How is a web application not a real program ? It's written in a programming language, it executes instructions based on how the code is compiled/interpreted, and it displays results by processing some user input.
Sounds like a real program to me.
Anyway, "installing" a computer program or application is savvy ? Then what does it mean when you compile your applications straight from the source code ? Better yet, write them yourself ?
Considering that nearly all "Pro IT" overwhelmingly used Windows
Please, all the guys who are any good at IT are Unix users. "Windows" sysadmins suck. It's a dirty secret and don't tell my boss : I probably know more about Windows than they do. I just don't want to work with it.
not to mention that "gamers" are one of the most comptuer-savvy consumers
Laughable. Gamers are good at one thing : Buying parts and jamming them together. It's not like they even come close to understanding what is meant by sub-pixel tessellation and what that means on their screens (or even what a sub-pixel is).

Well I managed to pickup Leopard & a tshirt from Regent st. It was pretty mad in there. I took some shots with my Nikon + sigma 30mm f1.4 but I've yet to process them.
It was fun waiting around if only to see the hordes of people and interest in what is... a software update. :rolleyes:

i'm just curious about all the people that stated how PCs are troublesome when we're adding hardwares. after i installed XP, i did not even installed any driver and everything was recognized as soon as i plugged them in and working in no time, from keyboards, mouses, to routers, scanners, graphics cards, printers, digital cameras. i had the drivers ready, expecting the onslaught of hardware setup wizard typical of 98, but instead, there's the little pop up box near the system tray that stated that these hardwares have been recognized, drivers installed, and ready for use. and sure enough, they are. as for the hardware incompatibilities, remember that PC hardwares and softwares are made by two different companies, while any apple computers ae assembled and prepared by on company who manufactured both. therefore, they KNOW what their software needs in order for them to work perfectly.

here are some good references to get a grasp of the differences. As others have stated, the lens is the same focal length, but on a smaller sensor body (APC), the image is essentially "cropped". Some websites..
Site #1 (http://www.extremeinstability.com/topic-full-frame.htm)
Site #2 (http://www.petapixel.com/2010/10/02/full-frame-vs-crop-sensor-comparison/)
Site #3 (http://www.the-digital-picture.com/canon-lenses/field-of-view-crop-factor.aspx)
The second site is a video that is nice. 3rd site has good info.
It is funny HOW NO ONE clicked on these links. It has all the info here, and you can see what the differences are... or people can just keep arguing.

Are you living in 2005 or so? Recent SD cards already max out at 64GB. That is already ~100 CDs worth of data.
Honestly. What's that guy talking about?

I really hope T-Mobile isn't chosen...I had them for a year and a half and what horrible customer service. Not to mention that their coverage in Palm Springs, CA is horrible. Apple should go with Verizon, I did go with AT&T myself, but Verizon is rated highest of all the carriers for customer satisfaction and coverage.

Here's the thing:
When she approached you, it was on her terms. Maybe she wanted to chat, maybe she thought you were interesting, whatever.
When you came back later and initated eye contact, it was on your terms, and that changed the whole dynamic, and took the control of the interaction out of her hands and into yours.
Remember, she HAS to be there 'cause it's her job. So, she knows that any number of anonymous guys can show up whenever they like to hit on her (and probably do on a weekly basis) - that can feel threatening. Running into the back would be a clue here.
I don't see a hopeful ending here. Hanging around the Apple store or the mall at shift changing times would be, well, not good unless you want a close up introduction to the big guy from Security. If you hafta go into the Apple store for Apple reasons, seek out the first male employee you see for help and do not make eye contact with Ms. X.
Sorry dude, all the lights are red at this intersection.

If I would leak something, I would make sure the device is clean, the camera is in focus and there is enough light.
Why are leaked images (almost) always such bad quality?

Until not that long ago Fox controlled DirecTV, so that is likely why.
News Corps, which owns FOX, Sky and many other studios/stations/newspapers, had a 38% stake in DirecTV. They sold it over 3 years ago.
As a long time DirecTV subscriber, who has scaled back some of their services and gone with TWC as well, ever since Liberty Media took over they've done very little. They're falling behind in the HD count and have instead decided to focus on PPV and 3D.

I'm going to go out on a limb and postulate that the next release won't be iOS5, nor will the next phone be iPhone 5. Reason being, as someone already stated in the forums a few days ago, this release is more likely to be iterative--evolutionary, not revolutionary. The new design of iPhone 4 will stand, and the only changes outwardly might be the screen. Everything else is inside.
I think '5' is a catchy number, and Apple will reserve it for the 2012 iPhone. We'll see a whole new, magical iOS5 and with it, iPhone 5! Dun, dun, duuuuun!!! (or should I say, BOOM!)
I think you'll see iOS4.5 with all these cool little tweaks to the UI (and I REALLY hope improvements to notifications), and the new iPhone 4NS (New Screen or some such) in September.

Where have you installed OpenCV and wxWidgets? Are they frameworks or dylib libraries? Have you added the framework or dylib to the Link Binary with Libraries build phase of your target? If they're dylibs, have you additionally added the path(s) to the header files to the Header Search Paths build setting of your target?

If iOS supported DLNA you would be able to do this without any new standard, there is no need for a new apple developed standard for this, I can stream video from my android phone to my TV, Bluray and PVR already. This is something devices have been able to do before Airplay came along.
It's not hat these devices need a new standard, just for apple to support an already industry wide used one.
yes, i can do this with my htc desire hd and sony tv already....
it is very apple like anyway, create a different name for something and call it theirs like airplay and retina display :apple:

During normal use, my new PowerMac has a very consistent and normal sounding hum.
But sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, and when idle and not sleeping, the PM's sound becomes unconsistent and goes up and down in about 10 second intervals.
It will be running, and it will sound like it's about to go to sleep...there will be a slight "click" sound, and then you can hear fans wind down and get quiet...then suddenly it "clicks" again, and the fans wind up and get increasingly louder.
It then continues to do this quiet-to loud-to quiet process indefinitely until I begin using it again.
It sounds like an interchanging powering down, then powering up, kind of thing. It's hard to explain.
It sort of does this (imagine the text below to represent the level of sound):
````````*click*----------..................*click*...........-----------``````````
(not sure if that makes any sense, but it's the best I could do).
It kind've sounds like it's trying to sleep, but doesn't quite get there, then powers up again...waits, then tries again.
I've got it set for my 56k to disconnect at 55 minutes of idle, and my PM to sleep at 1 hour of inactvity. I've noticed since I've had it that neither one has ever happened on its own.
Any help/info/advice is greatly appreciated!
2d vs 3d...pretty different data consumption
The 3D is generated on the phone. The map data itself really shouldn't be any different at all. Right?
I'd say your 500MB data allowance on O2 would be churned up in no time.
This should be exactly the same as using the Apple maps app in terms of bandwidth. Are people really killing their data plans using Google maps?
Have you looked at the Chrysler 200 convertible. It's pretty sharp but not as "macho" as the camaro or challenger. I had a sebring years ago, and loved it even though it was iffy as far as "quality." Still, probably the best convertible I've ever had. I rented a g6 hardtop convertible and it was great other than the tiny trunk.
No offense, but that is one ugly car and far too conservative for me. If I was married off and had kids, sure. ;)
I know what some of the plans are as I met the reps from Apple when they came to visit us.
edit: ...and as mentioned, some of you have no concept about the military at all. It's pretty amusing actually.
I just got off the phone with sale rep, and all they have is 32gb and 64gb left. When asked about the price, she said $500 for 32gb (??). I mentioned the article and she still said $500. Weird? Is there an official link to this somewhere on the verizon site, as all I can see is it bundled with mifi @ 429.99 (16gb).
My store knew about the price drop and they had the price tag on the display updated. At the bottom of the price sheet that shows the iPad2 and iPad1 prices, it showed 299/399/499 for the different models. My guess is if you buy it in store, it should ring up at the lower price.
