I'm at a total loss here. My dates became current in June and I was ready with all the paperwork - even filled all the forms myself. Company and their attorneys took their own time and sent the application out only today for Monday delivery... I kept on reminding them what USCIS did to EB-3 other workers.. but all for nothing....... they can just say 'oops sorry' and out lives are screwed!!!

My case is at the local USCIS service center. I opened an SR on Aug 12 and got an email response encouraging me to apply for an Infopass appointment: "We have determined that your case would have a better result if you make an appointment to visit your local office, so you may speak with an Immigration Services Officer about your case."
I now have an Infopass booked. Let's see what happens. My case is pre-adjudicated since we had an interview two years ago.
Should it go any further this way, can anyone please explain the process of Ombudsman / Congressman / Senator et al?

I filed my I485 on July 2with my wife.
But till today(1st Oct,2007) i have not received recipt no. And it has already been 90 days.

for some reason, the pdf file is not opening....I will do the flyer posting wherever I can.....We should also probably write up a mail that can be mass mailed to recruit the many who are affected or may potentially be affcted by this issue, or whose loved ones are affected. We should also do a smart media camapaign- even try to draw attention of network programs like 20/20 or 60 minutes that have a mass impact- to the really tragic situation many ppl are in (esp. one case from the last board comes to mind- of course we have to be ultra-sensitive about privacy and other sensitivities of the individuals involved).....getting the attention of the major networks may not be as far fetched as it seems- much less worthy causes have been championed by these programs.....if we articulate it well to the producers involved, with the right mix of facts and the personal, I believe many will consider it seriously, even though immigration is a complex issue to many....like i said we shd not underestimate the american sense of fairness, and we have a very good cause where we need some of it.....it will appear dreadfully unfair to many that people who have been paying social security taxes for 5-10 years are not even allowed the security of knowing whether they themselves will be eligible for it when they need it! That notion will give a jolt to most unbiased americans who typically associate immigration with people sponging off the system

Dear dreamworld,
First of all thanks a lot for your reply and i further have some question if you could please help me understand that. the situations is that I have given my New I140 (EB2) to my lawyer and all he did was took a copy of my I485 receipt notice and said he will send that to USCIS. My PD on EB3 is Feb. 2003, how would I come to know if my EB3 PD was ported to EB2 by that I mean to how I would come to know if my I485 was ported to EB2 and still have PD of Feb 2003...

I am so emotional now........just got the email, text message and message on the website changed to "Decision"
Mine, my wife's and my son's cases APPROVED!!!!
My case was in NSC. No additional fingerprinting, except one in Oct 2007, my son had to do one since he turned 14 this year....
14 years of wait is over......Praise be to God for his faithfulness and mercies

I have the same situation. CPO change date on 5th, email on 6th. Since then, no LUD, status changes, email, or snail mail.
No need to worry...I got my physical cards yesterday in the mail - about 7 business days after CPO update. You will get the cards soon...

Lets treat good news for EB2 as good news for EB3 also.
If not today, some of us EB3 folks may want to port. So it will help more people to port and also to compensate to some extent the #s coming into EB2 pool from EB3.
Overall its a good news, and looks to be possible we see this on Murthy site also. Lets be happy.
What are you talking about? this is not a good news, we will decide that after May Visa Bulletin. For now just read that as a publicity stunt from lawyers and forget about it.

Sorry to hear this, but what is the violation you are referring to. I thot, L1s can be employed in the US on client projects by consulting companies, big or small. Sorry if i dont understand the visa rules here

I am pretty new to the forum (as a member), I have been browsing the same for quite some time and found it a good source of information regarding immigration related activities. Right now I am getting removed from my project as one of the top 3 Indian outsourcing firm is dumping their L1 resources at my client site and replacing all the citizens, GCs, EADs, H1 etc. These resources are used in projects managed and controlled by my client (most of them are consulting assignments) and these resources are used on java/.net/oracle projects, these two are violations of L1 visa restrictions set by USCIS, I want to know how and where to complain against this violation and we have all evidence to prove the same (project documents, time sheets, work assignments etc). Please let me know exactly and to which agencies we should complain.

Name Check is usually sent a week after ones I-485 ND.
I have obeserved this for several cases including mine.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no relation between the time a Name Check is initiated and FP. They are independent.
How did you know the Name check status ? Did you call USCIS ?
It is interesting to know they start the name check before FP.

If 44k is the available number for EB2 I & C then the PD will move upto Jun 2008 with out any doubt. Even with the porting of EB3 to EB2 is accounted for.

My EAD expires today, I applied for the renewal on April 6th. This is my 4th EAD and I totally missed to apply in time this time.
1)Is there any way to speed up the process to get the EAD soon?
2) I cannot work from next week is there any way I can get through this ?
