Please unite to help the Green card Immigration issues be resolved. I am planning to send 3 letters from my house...One for me, my wife and my son.....writing directly to the President.
Lets flood the white house with letters, so that they will know how many GC applications are stuck at the USCIS and do something about it.

Called the DOS. Told them I need to travel to my home country and asked them if they can verify if my information is in PIMS. She asked if the H1-B is an extension case which it is. She said the extension cases are taking a bit longer than the new ones. That is quite surprising. Finally she looked in the database or whatever and said they do not have my extension information yet. All they have is the information from the expired petition. No timelines just asked me to call back in a week.:rolleyes:
I need to know if anyone had any luck if their lawyers pursued this matter with the DOS.

My Lawyer - said U cannot have 2 485s for same person
My Wife's lawyer - U can have 2 485s, but it is not recommended...due to reasons mentioend by Pappu (USCIS confuses etc etc)
I think I will follow pappu's advise here

I will apply my 485 w/ wife as dependent as first filing
Get A#'s from first filing ...and if and when opportunity comes (Dates are current)
File from my wife's Co. with me as dependent (second filing). ( I may decide against doing that if I get EADs in a timely manner from first filing)

By sending so many flowers over and over again you are only going to piss off people and expedite retrogression :D:D. Live the real life instead of reel.

It seems only few July 2nd filer left. I am one of them.
Nothing, Zilch, Nada....My lawyer said that of the 40 applications they filed on July 2nd. they got RN for only 5 so..... Seems to be a very long wait

To quote it in a much broader sense, America is not the end of the world - period! Just take it easy and enjoy life...don't freak out if the visa bulletin updates and you don't get to file your 485...we are all in this country by our free will..if we feel the rules of the land are not fair to us..each one of us is free to leave....
On another front, if this actually does happen, I will be the first person to sue USCIS for all the expenses, lost time and headaches that I incurred in preparing the 485 application...I think USCIS can't get away without reimbursing everyone for all of the above...
Agreed it is not the end of the world... but no monetary sum can reimburse the stress we've gone through and going through, the number of years worrying, the numerous decisions we've deferred, the immobility of career we've gone through... just in anticipation. They just brought all these people to the well to quench their thirst only to find out that it's but dried up.

If there are 62K Eb-3 India applications I'm sure no one can file anything for Eb-3 what stops USCIS from clearing these.. This Data is flawed or If we are reading this wrong

My attorney is not including any w2s/tax returns at all. According to her, their firm never files these documents and got many approval without any issue. Did you see any instructions in 485 forms that says that they are required?
W2's/tax returns are not part of the initial evidence USCIS requires to process your application but they may ask for it later if required

2. If I'm the primary applicant for the Green Card, can I leave my sponsoring employer to either start a business on my own or work for a different employer after I received my EAD?

If you can restart ur app in Eb2, you should be fine dates wise. Unless CIR messes it up.
Approximately 2 months for PERM and then you can file 140+485 concurrently.

Small suggestion.I am looking for IV's achievements (Not Campaigns,News updates etc) in IV home page since it's started.
I do see 1)Success with July 07 fiasco 2)2 year EAD
We should have a link(In Home Page) to a achievements page(which we have to keep updating we achieve something) which just briefly mentions IV's achievements.

I am a dependent of my husband's process - my PD is now current, is it possible to switch and have an I-485 application where I am the primary applicant and he is the dependent, so we do not depend on his company anymore?
I do not want to take anyone's else opportunity by getting another A#, just want to know if there is a way to switch the roles.

Inspired by the hit Hindi movie "Lage Raho Munnabhai" that extolled Gandhian ways of non-violent protest, the green card applicants plan to send around a thousand flower deliveries to US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Emilio Gonzalez in a three-day campaign that started Tuesday.
The protest followed the abrupt reversal last week of a June announcement offering expedited processing of green card petitions for thousands of skilled foreign professionals working under H1-B visas - reserved for skilled workers in computing, engineering and other special professions.
Thousands of such visa holders scrambled and spent money on lawyers and medical exams to beat the July 1 deadline for green card applications. The abrupt change sent them back to the queue for 2008.
Besides India, skilled workers from China, Poland and many other countries will now have to spend more time and money to get the coveted green cards - a halfway house to US citizenship.
"The idea is to push them to honour their earlier notification," said Aman Kapoor, founder of Immigration Voice, a forum that inspired the unusual protest.
Indians are the worst hit by country quota caps for immigration visas, which treat a billion strong India, boasting a highly skilled workforce, on par with a country like Trinidad and Tobago of one million souls, he said.
On its part, the USCIS response was equally pacific. It plans to forward the flowers to Walter Reed Army Medical Centre and Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington, the main facilities treating US soldiers wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, said Gonzales in a statement on the agency website.

Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. They are taking time off and spending own money for you and me. Nothing is free in this world. IV is also doing this for you and me and we are taking it for granted. I know few frinds of mine who were July 2nd filers too got their receipts last week on Monday.
So nobody knows whats going on whereas I have heard even August filers are getting receipts too.
