No, I didn't go out of the country for stamping, coz i was under the impression that my visa was Change of Status from L-1 to H-1. Only now, i could find from the immigration lawyer that i don't have a valid I-94. My employer was napping too, all this while.

Someone gave me a "red" with totally unjustified reason. Initially I was upset - and I complained about it - found that he gave me more reds with similar comment from multiple userids (because one userid can't give multiple green/red to the same post). And this guy is doing at weird times ..like 5 in the morning (so psyco is the right description ... now I am sure he is going to given couple of reds to me :D )
After rethinking - now I don't care much about reds - someone is just pissed off, jealous or having fun ... red might make us (and our posts) look less reliable ... however I decided to keep my blood-pressure low and psyco's high :D ..so go ahead psyco - add more reds !!

I don't know if the memo thing is correct or not but I did call NSC using POJ method and I was told not to expect anything before Oct 1st.
I think that was another way of saying that we have received a memo otherwise why will he tell you that.

I am extending my donations for one more year. It�s almost a year I signed up for monthly contribution.
I could not go to DC ..but I will continue my support through funding. I sent mails to local senators.
Kudos to everyone who participated in the DC advocacy event. Core IV is really deserved to be appreciated from bottom of our hearts.

This is not a legal advice to anybody, just explaining who I did!! Risk is yours!!.
On my passport "Surname" was empty. Complete name was under "Given Name". Assuming on passport:
Given Name: �Harjinder Singh"
Surname: ......empty....
Just went to Embassy of India - Washington DC. Filled a "Miscellaneous form" and under purpose pick OTHERS and write �Name Split". Then write on form what you want.
I requested " Split my name as Given Name = Harjinder; Surname = Singh".
Attach a photo on form, pay 20$ fee and collect a corrected passport next day.
As long as you are not changing the name this should be fine otherwise what will be in advertisement " My name is Harjinder Singh and I want to declare my new name is Harjinder Singh???" unless changing a name it seem simple 2 day task via Miscellaneous form.
Rest EAD / 485 I don't know because I am not at that stage yet.

Please educate every one you meet in your community, friends circle and help others who do not know the laws and risking their kids life.
The thread has been filled up with mixed responses of some threatening, supporting, uncontrollable anger and attacking, don't bother much, as it is a way for ourselves get educated, because most of us here have kids same age as yours.

We also were in touch with another highly skilled/educated PhD holder from China who was very eager to help but unfortunately his GC process had also not started

My RFE was to prove status from 1999 to 2003..show I-20/EAD/F1/H1 etc....
Regardless of RFEs what I meant was preadjudication is a myth....anyone can get an RFE whether he is preadjudicated or not....
U can get RFEs for the silliest of reasons...and once you get that RFE it does not matter if it is genuine or not....you have to respond and your case gets delayed.
I don't understand why members in this forum are so hopeful that if they are preadjudicated then it is a matter of time (and soon) they will get green.

Well, one does not know the exact pre-adjudication policy at the service centers i.e do they re-open a pre-adjudicated file after a certain time period or something in the several database changes that prompts it.
One thing we need to remember and is certain is that, in the month of June and July 2nd of 2007, just before the fiasco thousands of GC's were issued (much much beyond the capacities of all I-485 service centers). This happened only because of pre-adjudication. I know several who had gotten RFE's in the year before and simply got their GC's quickly in June and July 2nd. (with EB3-I PD 03/04/05 as well !)
