These USINPAC folks are shameless creatures who will take credit for the sun shining tomorrow morning. Lets send this guy Sanjay Puri, Robinder Sachdev and his fraudsters team a dictionary so that he knows how to spell IMMIGRATION correctly even if he has some malicious thoughts and actions in his mind. All they are good at is to do photo oppotunities and do these frauds where they claim to have worked or be working on an issue. I can also do the fund raisers and get photos taken. But there is where it stops with USINPAC. The politicians walk away with the money and turn their back on them and these guys start looking for the next politician to do a fund raiser for and get photo opportunity. How much more foolish can this get??

1. Call your embassy.
2. Ask to speak with a Legal Attache / Equivalent
3. Explain the case in your native language.
4. Ask for help. Most foreign embassies are setup to help.
Tell them you are helpless. Dont know where to go. Given them 100% facts. Dont feel shy about the 'gory' details.
Remember, this is in the legal system now. Bulletin board responses from here are not as good as solid legal advice and help.
Next, find a local Chinese / Asian community organization. Google for it. If you cant find one locally, search for ones in big cities like NY, Boston etc and ask them for a reference. These groups are setup to help immigrants in distress. You might find an Asian-friendly or Asian lawyer willing to take up your case, FOR FREE. Just ask.
Finally, stop talking to all your neighbors. You can always reserve the right to file a Civil Rights / Discrimination suit. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) can help. Call them. After you call your embassy.
This can be resolved easily if you have the right people on your side. Got it?

Hey! sorry, i did not mean to judge your situation... all i was thinking is that... hmm.. he works for this company... no he does not.. he works for himself... no but he has an arrangement with that company... so i did not really understand and for a minute i thought it was not a sound thing to do (at least for me)... even i had many questions of very legalese nature... i did ask a lawyer to see me for an hour or two... he went over all my papers and advised me about it... took $200 for that piece... $200 well spent i think.
its ok to start a company... i just got confused with the company bit... sorry again.

i am not sure why you think kavya wont excel in her life - she already has a great headstart with close to 40grand in winnings! i also dont know why you think she will end up working for a non-ivy league educated manager - & even then why its a bad thing to win a spelling bee..too many gaps or leaps in thoughts/logic?!

The other way of experiencing is to watch the pattern and construct of these spelling bees carefully and apply your own thinking process. Once you do this you would almost agree what logiclife was trying to throw to us.Spelling Bee competition, though make a child well aware about the roots of the words (latin, Greek roots) and provide enough exposure to the kid to understand the English language in its essence, it does not teach a kid how to think, how to become creative and innovative.

In the state of Mass delivery is covered by the State provided you show you don't have insurance. Millions of single moms are delivering and many are teenagers and many are w/o any insurance. If one is not able to pay it it goes to the collection agency or state or charitable trust. All these features are free for Illegals. So better have insurance.
As per obama's new rule, the company will pay 2/3 of the insurance and you will have to pay 1/3 of the insurance. The company will get the amount back as tax credit. In california the laid off person has to pay $100 for insurance and the rest will be paid by the company.
Regarding EAD you are in Status and you can apply for disability insurance from the state. your husband can work in EAD.
Don't stress yourself. Layoff is common these days.

1. If your labor was filed in Nov 06 or earlier then you can file for 7th year extension (based on rule that labor pending for more than 365 days)
2. I'm not 100% sure but i think when your labor is approved if PDs are current, you can file i-140, 485, EAD together and get EAD by before your visa expires and you would be fine.
3. Labor substitution will not be allowed after July 17th, and there are a lot approved labors whose beneficiaries have left the company. Employers are willing to use these labors for whatever they get (excuse me!). My Priority date is April 09, I don't have I-140 and no EAD ofcourse. I bought a house last year.. whatever you say, i want to live every moment of my life. While coming to US 5 years back i came with just $500 never thought that i will stay in my own house one day in US.. I want to enjoy every moment of it. In future i am not sure what will happen you can't plan everything, atleast in my case, my plans never work out because destiny always plays its part and the plan gets Fcuk up. I don't want to rely on GC or EAD for happiness because its destiny.. if i am destined to get it i will get one day else forget it... i will go back.. If i had to get GC i would have got it long time back.. me and my friend applied for labor in Mar 06 he got is GC last year... but i am still stuck with my new PERM.. so there is no point in holding back your happiness.. just do what makes you happy.. after all it depends on each individual. Initially i did the same thing rented an apartment saved money and use to watch visa bulletins... its time to live life the way i want.

Because of my one of the diseases I am always worried about DISABILITY insurance.
I always try to get Short term and Long Term disability insurances through employer.
But the problem is they always start with long preexisting exlusions and when you change jobs they dont continue so have to start new one which also has other new preexisting exlusions to start.
You can convert your longterm disability to the personal policy if you have that for long time. but they are not valid if you get new job.
Is there any private/personal (not employer sponsored) Short and long term DISABILITY Insurance policies that we can purchase out side of the job.? How are the premiums? Are they reliable?
also do any of you know case where LIFE INSURANCE was actually paid and how easy/hard the process was for family?
