a. Contact your senator and your congressman/woman. I contacted both. Senator's office had a very nice system of faxing in your request, just for USCIS issues, so I did that, and got a letter in three days stating that Senator has contacted USCIS for me. b. I will get started immediately instead of waiting. You do not know if your IO is working on other EB-2 India applications. He could be working on a chunk of EB-4 applications and not even picking up your application from the holding area, where it can lie for many days.
c. I feel that you should submit 7001 unless you believe you know where your application is. Meaning, if multiple IOs / infopass tell you the same info, then it is probably true and you can wait. Someone else asked me for the POJ method for TSC. I just followed the POJ instructions listed on this forum.

Did you see your checks cashed?
I was transferred to stage 2 IO. He was indeed one of the nicest and patient one to listen to my woes. Anyways.. after taking down my entire details including FS,LS,DOB, Address, Mailing date, Zip, Location, email add and misc things... he successfully emailed and inquiry notice to NSC requesting a followup on my pending application. He said I shd be hearing back from NSC shortly, since an inquiry is generated now by him. When I asked him, if this is going to jeopardise my application in any way and he said... no way since we are just trying to find out the fate of the application pending.
Thats all I had to share for now. Pls. pray for me and my pending application to be successfully processed.

Can someone explain why it seems harder to find backers in the house than in the senate for immigration reform (even the employment based legal immigration)? If we understand this, maybe it will help us focus our lobbying efforts better. Just a thought.

Infopass appointment said that my file got assigned to Examination officer on Aug 4th...Not sure if Examination Officer and IO are same or not...
But the real kicker is i got second FP on July 26th, 2010 for Code 1...I didnt see any LUD after second FP...I am guessing this is where i am stuck with second time name check or back ground check verifications...
Also is it good to go for DHS 7001 form right way...i mean ombudsman request...
Donot worry about FP....2nd FP is not absolute must.....there are too many approvals without 2fp. Just hold on and you will get the mail outta blue.
BTW: I had 3 FPs, in sep07, june09 and dec09. They had somehow alloted 2A#s and each generated fp. Finally, they consolidated A#s.....Hopefully, my next posting 'll be after I get cards in hand (hopefully, those are waiting for me in my mail-box, today) this evening :D:D

If USCIS mail room is closed fedex will probably re-attempt to deliver the next business day.

I am on the same boat with you. Got a receipt # but it's void in their system while online status is still pending. They said my package was send back 50 days ago but my lawyer and I didn't see it yet. my lawyer only told me to wait and said there is nothing we can do but wait.. really frustrated

My only confusion now is my application status - "On August 13, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later."
I do not know what ADIT means? Did anyone get similar response? What are the next steps from here in your experience? Thank you for the help in advance.

And I know for sure there are few murderers , politicians and movie stars(most of them are arrested atleast once for crime or the other :-)) who have the same first name and middle name as mine back in India.Last name is what makes the full name unique.
My Namecheck was initiated Aug 4th as per TSC IO and is still pending.Looks like I am going to be waiting for a long time.

If I am not wrong, buffering wud be to take in new 485 applications, process them and keep them ready.
In that context, most of the applications till 07/07 have been preadjudicated, new buffer wud require dates to be pushed to 07/07 or later.
I would think they move to 07/07 first to see any missing demand to appear in the next month or two and then move significantly, if needed, in the final quarter!

Only thing keeps me off vonage is they cancellation policy they comeup this lot of charges if i want to cancel.
I will wait for Lingo plan to jump in let me also send an email to Viatalk and see what they say.
Vonage has a contract of 1 year. Have to pay around $100 if you break the contract.
Lingo has a contract for 2 years. Will have to pay a similar contract break fee for Lingo as well.
Monthly charges for world plan: Lingo is cheaper than vonage
Voice quality: Vonage is slightly better than Lingo. Lingo is ok too.
Customer service: Vonage is better than Lingo
Contract Period: Vonage 1 year. Lingo 2 years
