A good old fashioned thank you card signed by some of our core would be the best way to go. I guess we could design a card with the IV logo on it.

Hi All,
We wish to apply for PIO card for our 5 month old baby at the Washington DC Indian Embassy.
The application and the supporting documents are all in place.
We have to drive 3 hrs to the Indian Embassy.
Since the weather is not very co-operative, i was wondering if it's absolutely required to take the kid to the Embassy? I would like to avoid taking him if possible.
Also, a minor question - how do you manage to get the thumb impression. Where can we get the ink pads required for the thumb impression?

What you said is wrong, if you are in H1b, you can switch to H4 and come back to H1 without cap but I need more input. Like if I am on H1b based on I-140 and if my spouse is on H1b non-profit. how it works!!

Glad to know that your appeal process got approval for I-140 petition. I am desperate to get my I-140 petition approved from USCIS. Please give me some detail of your case and when did you filed Notice of appeal and when did you received your response for appeal?

Did you try to appeal the denial ??
Mine was denied for the same reasons (denied no rfe) and my lawyer appealed and it worked and I-140 approved.
Try to see if you can appeal. If I am not wrong you can appeal within 30 days of denial.

I read SKIL bill and it refers to "Exempts U.S.-educated professionals with advanced degrees". I Do not see why an online master degree does not fit in here. Maybe I am missing something :)
This is an excerpt of Section 201.
Section 201. United States Educated Immigrants. Exempts U.S.-educated professionals with advanced degrees and those who have been awarded a medical specialty certification based on post-doctoral training and experience
in the United States from the annual green card (i.e. immigrant visa) cap.
All I was trying to say is that only "accredited" programs might be eligible, and I am not too sure how many online Master's fall in to this bracket, but not too many I guess, except for some of them offered from top-notch schools.
Again, this is just speculation as no one has yet seen the nuances of the bill.

If John Lennon was alive, i am quite sure he would be a member of IV. considering how much paint he was put through to get a green card...
For those who have seen the documentary " U.S. vs John Lennon" documentary will certainly know what i am talking about.
His way of protesting was actually quite similar to ours. He was a self proclaimed "Peacenik". He protested by laying in bed and growing his hair...

I am trying to book an appointment at the chennai consulate through the vfs website.
I fill in all the details on the DS 156 application and on hitting continue I do not seem to be getting the printable version with the bar code that we need to print and take to the consulate during the interview.
Another thing is after clicking on continue I am presented with a page to fill in the DS 157 and petition details and after filling that, I just get options to save and exit or go back.
I am not getting options to select a date to schedule the interview.
Any one who has done this recently please hlep, I am stuck witth this stupid thing for a couple of days now.... Please help ;(

make sure you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed
I recently (july) took an appointment for my relatives and saw a similar behavior - got an empty page after i hit submit - noticed that Acrobat Reader had been uninstalled recently...then I noticed
that for some reason had better luck when using IE (was trying with Firefox before)

You should try to talk to an immigration attorney at the earliest.
Reading your case, I think best would be for you to find another job and file a new PERM application. You will retain the earlier priority date.
Additionally, have you considered getting a 3 year H1B extension based on the approved 140? I am not sure whether you can do it because you no longer work for this company. So, when you got a H1B transfer (for the new company B), did they give you 3 years or 1year extension for H1B?

What does your online status say? Mine changed today and says the following:
Current Status: Approval notice sent.
On October 3, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT.
No idea what it means though. If you are a July 2nd filer, the above surely should not mean I am about to receive mine anytime now...Confused:confused:

my current H1B visa expires 03/07 . If I can fill for extension and while petion is pending with USCIS for processing can I travel outside USA ?
I asked lawyer to apply for extension first week of september . I have I140 approved and he will request 3 years increment .
my job requires traveling outside USA and I'm wonder if I can travel back and forth until petition is approved .
I know that after approval I need to get visa stamp .
Your quick inputs will be highly appreciated
