Yes, perhaps people don't post these type of investigations. If you have heard any N-400 issues (from your corporate position) about someone caused by leaving the petitioning employer soon after GC then let us know, otherwise it is one of the rarest of rare issues. My attorney clearly mentioned to me that he has seen no such issues in his long career when someone left the employer soon after.
Coming back to the AC21...if someone changes to a similar job after 180+ days after filing I-485 and informs USCIS of it and then gets a GC, there is no question of any wrongdoing. If USCIS wants to do their audit investigations I wouldn't care an iota about their investigations as long as I have the right paperwork with me.
Secondly in a non-AC21 case even if one leaves the job of the petitioning company immedaitely how does the intent become questionable when the person is working for the same company for several (5+) years. On the contrary it would be easy to prove the intent here.
I'm just curious as to how many postings you see on these boards where a persons case has been denied; DOL/USCIS has visited their home; their visa got cancelled by consultate when h-4 went for stamping; got caught in interview lying; DOL investigating companies, etc...
People do not post these types of issues on immigration forums.

no that makes no sense. There is absolutely no need to mention illegals in that paragraph where they are talking about high-skilled immigrants. Didn't think about that. but... why would officer ask "do you work for the sponsoring employer"? Isn't your GC same as family based, asylum, etc. green cards? Does officer even have that information right away? What do they ask usually?
I don't see the difference between being laid off and leaving yourself. In case of being laid off, your employer has to show intent of employing you forever. If any document will surface, that he had plans to lay you off before applying for I-140 or without you invoking AC21 at moment of AOS, then you are in the same trouble.
These issues are raised not to start freaking out, but just to know them and not to do some silly things.
In general... take this philosophically - it never ends. If not immigration, then something else will always be. Just know the law, keep your paperwork in order, don't talk to government employees without a lawyer, flex your mind, and do your thing.

Why not? Although I have applied for GC, I have no desire to take US citizenship, just to let you know. The majority does not mean the whole world and also does not mean everyone. There are Indian citizens that love India. Parents should be able to make decisions for their kids until they are 18. The kid can take US citizenship when he is 18 if parents have opted for Indian citizenship.

This EAD thing is really annoying, my wife got her AP and EAD last 11/21, with immediate update in USCIS.gov. I'm still waiting for mine, and I'm the principal. Anyway. I'll have an infopass appointment on 12/18. My H1-B permit expires on 02/07/08.
We applied to NSC, all documents received on August 02/2007.
My RD at NSC was 07/02/07 and my EAD status changed to "production ordered" just 5 days back(still dont know when I will get it). I think NSC is taking upto 5 months from RD to process the EADs.

There is nothing in the law; where USCIS can deny a person's 485 due to bad credit. Therefore, they wouldnt' have any interest in checking this.
They are on record that they will check publicly available information in help adjudicating cases. They usually; do this on h-1b petitions. They'll check the company web-site; company registration; whether office is in a house, virtual office, web-site of company giving purchase order, etc. They frequently quote whatever they find in denying cases.
I actually came across a case where a company had 14- denied for ability to pay.
There was a merger between companies and the new company filed the 140 using old companies labor.
In denial; USCIS said they didn't believe the merger because a search of the california business portal showed that the old company renewed their business registratoin (evidence that it wsas still in business);
since, president of the company had same name last name as person being sponsored; USCIS actually retrieved the president of the companies greencard applicatoin from 10 years earlier and quoted that the candidate and president were brothers because according to their g-325a's they had the same parents. They denied the ccase and invalidated the labor due to this.
I remember back in 1994; IRS said that they were going to check peoples credit applications and comparing to peoples tax returns; they were going to try to compare the income people listed on their tax returns to what they were putting on their credit applications.
If USCIS was going to try to get credit files; it would be in order to compare work/address history with what a person has put in their applications. However, they have a lot of other ways to verify this that they wouldn't need to go to a persons credit file. I know with the economy the way it is; people seem to be worried that declaring bankruptcy or having negative credit history affects their 485. However, not paying debts isn't considered criminal that it would impact a persons applications.

No I did not forget the pain of that LC. And I'll never forget that in my life either. All that I said was we should prioritize our issues. If everybody says PBEC issue is the once that should get more focus, I've no problem with that
either.
All that I was trying to say is that now is the time to take care of retrogression. If we miss this chance
we may have to wait a long time. We will get more time to work on BECs down the lane. And nobody is
seeing BEC issue a non serious one. Everybody understands it.
