my situation is similar to JunRN's. My RN position is with Union Contact. I got Prevailing Wage Survey in early July. By law I can only file I140 at least 30 days after sending the Union a copy of the petition, i.e., in earyly August. I also have similar concern that my PD will be in August.:mad:

I may travel to India in Oct on AP for first time. I am working on EAD and changed employer with AC21. I will use AP at POE.
1) Do I have to get any transit visa if I go through European countries?
2) Will there be any problem at POE? Any recent experiences?
3) Do I have to go to consulate in India?

I had my FP on 11/03 in NJ location but I moved to New York. So I went to a NY ASC today 4 days prior to my original notice. When myself and my wife went there, we got earful from FP lady there for coming in different location and that too in advance. She told us that we should not just walk-in like that in any day. But she still managed to talk our FP. It was a big relief!
She also told me that Wed is the amnesty day. If someone has missed out then, they can give it on any Wednesday.

I don't know what amt was enclosed with the application. All I know it is rejected b'couse of Incorrect/No Fee. My concern is it was rejected on Sep 22nd & lawyer might have got the notice of rejection & he missed it or don't know what happened. It is already more than a month now. How much time is there to resend the application.

Dont rely on the realtor to determine the home price for you. DO some homework...compare homes in the vicinity and come up with a price thats reasonable and mos importantly AFFORDABLE to you.

I gave my 3rd FP for pending 485 last week. Haven't seen any LUD change since. My NC was cleared last year as per USCIS. My question is after every FP, does FBI initiate a new name check? is this a vicious circle ?

Hi, I recently got a H1B extension stamping in Chennai consulate upto 2010 and I came back to SFO last week. Since my passport is expiring on July 2009. I-94 was issued upto July 2009.
Now my issue is to extend my I-94 upto the validity of H1B visa. I went through similar thread and it says crossing US border to Mexico or Canada will do to get the new I-94. So I am planning to make a trip to Mexico after my passport got renewed to renew I-94. Does it work?. Or do I have to go out of American Continent to get the new I-94. Some thread from (other sites) said, I need to go out American Continent..Is it true?.
Or is there any other way to extend my I-94 without crossing the border?.

Yes, you can do this if you are from country that allows you to enter Canada without Canadian visa. Then, you would need to give away your previous I-94 and get a new one upon re-entry to the United States. The problem is that some airlines don't want to take I-94 back if they know you are not traveling for over 30 days to Canada. This is especially true if you enter Canada via road. Somehow, it is best to explain why you need to give your old I-94 away. If they don't take your old I-94, you can ask an immigration officer for a new I-94, explaining the situation. Then, if lucky, he takes your old I-94 and issues a new one with correct date.

I saw similar set of replies for a woman who sought help regarding her status for entering the country without passport from Canada (which was legal pre 9/11) and then divorcing the dude she was married to. Some righteous pricks called her names and gave red dots generously.

When India won its first Olympics individual medal, someone posted it on this site. People descended on that poor guy asking him to stick to the subject. Now where are those guys? Do I need to assume that they are not offended by this time?
Well, are we all not trying to be Americans? So what’s wrong with cheering for the guy who makes this nation proud? If we were ALL trying to permanently migrate to India, in that case you will not see any opposition to Bhindra's achievement. I personally think that there is no need to make issue out of "this" or "that" on the forum for everything going on in the world. Both these gentleman and others who did well are remarkably disciplined human beings and we ought to celebrate their perfection, maybe by trying to be closer to perfection showing a little more appreciation for each other.
Although I must quote a reporter on the news recently who said "When we wave Americans flags, we want to be called/seen as patriots and when others wave their flags, we call them nationalist". I found this comment very interesting.
The point is, no matter what, we will find our differences superseding anything and everything in front of us under any given situation. That’s just Great…. maybe that’s part of being human …. do we expect ourselves to behave/react better than this…. Maybe we just want others to behave better than "this".

I believe in IV and its efforts.
I understand rally will help IV to demonstrate the people support.
I understand, in rally and after rally IV requests/lobbys law-makers to fix the broken immigration system system.
But can someone clarify me, what exactly IV is requesting law-makers?
1) Are we asking to re-capture visa numbers? (150K may not be sufficient for 750K applicants)
2) Remove country limit (still have to 5 years)
3) Increase the EB quota?
4) Clear all current pending Backlog labor/I-140/I-485/etc applications by 2009? This is temporary solution, but will solve the problem for now.
5) Another Immigration Reform bill for legal?
Having clear answers will help to gain support from my friends, colleagues and more and more people will be willing to join.

My case was also transferred to CSC. The transfer notice has a different receipt date than the receipt notice. MY case is now transferred back to NSC.

Get yourself fired from your current company & join your client. As it is not ur intent to move and you are foreced to move. You can explain this during naturalization. Also as it is the same job you dont need to worry..

I got my GC on 09/18/07. Now my consulting company (how sponsored my GC) is having issues with the client and client is thinking to terminate the contract.
Client want to bring me to there pay roll. In other words they are offering my permanent position.
My consulting company does not have immediate opening for me.
It is not even a month that I got my GC. And I am with the same consulting company for about 6.5 years now.
Please help me. What should I do? If I accept the offer will I get problem at citizenship stage? If I do not accept offer I will loose job and I don't know how much time I have to wait till my consulting company find job for me.
