You should be fine. Now that you have the receipt, you can start working for employer B. Some wait for the actual transfer to take place before working. It is a matter of preference. From what you have mentioned, your case seems to be pretty straight fwd and should not be an issue.

1) So does it mean, if we apply for fresh h1 and once it's approved, we can stay for 3 years initially irrespective of L1 stay, for my case its' 13 months ? If not, how L1 stay affects initial h1 approval timings ?
2) If I apply for h1, let say in June'10, and once it's approved what could/should be my joining date with new employer ?

According to CIS ,they will take time upto 26th Oct ,just to issue the receipts. Again they say ,it might not be that longer but what I think we are not going to get the receipts anytime soon. At the same time we need not file another application if we dont hear anything from them till 15th of August,since we have the mail delivary proof that the application was accepted at TSC.
So there is no other alternative but to wait for either a receipt or checks getting cashed...

You dont have to be employed by the employer for 180 days. All you need is 485 pending for 180 days. So in the letter you can mention that 485 had been pending for more than 180 days.
The only catch is if USCIS question about your "intention" at the time of filing 485. (Since you didnt work for the company after 485, and now specifically says dont intent to..).
At the time of filing 485 you should have proper intention to join the original employer.
Maybe somebody else who went through similar experience can help u.
AC21 invocation letters typically state that you're using AC21 for switching employment after 180 days. What argument should be used to invoke AC21 in my case?

I had applied for my H1B extn and got an RFE. Lawyers replied to it and its almost 7 weeks now, haven't got any reply.

I have worked for Company "A"(Ex-employer) under H1-B(company A holding my H1-b) from 2007-2010. During 2009 & 2010, company A was unable to clear all my payments as the company went through some financial hurdles but they issued W-2 for the amount paid in fiscal year 2009. Now, company A has got money and they decided to clear my back wages for 2009-2010 through 1099 form. I transferred my H1-B visa to Company B(2010) then to Company C(current employer). Now, Company C has started my Green card(GC) process.
Questions:
1. I already received W2 for 2009. Can company A amend the W2 for the back wages?
2. Is it legal to take the unpaid amount under 1099? Will it affect my GC process?
3. What are my options to get my back wages from company A?
4. Company A want to issue 1099 along with a letter stating that i was full time employee for the time period mentioned in 1099. Is it acceptable?
I really appreciate your help for taking your valuable time in clarifying my questions. I look forward for your reply.

I am graduate student in Clinical Psychology. I am going to be working for a state employer during summer. This is mandatory for my program and I will receive 6 credits for it by the end of summer. However, due to some graduate school rules, I will have less than minimum credits to take during the Fall '10 and Spring '11 semesters. I was wondering if I could go ahead and work on CPT during summer (the employment is not paid), but register for those credits during Fall '10 and Spring '11 (breaking it up into 3 credits each) which will ensure my minimum registration.
Also, can I apply for CPT during a semester when I have taken minimum credits required and I am a TA (full 20 hours)?

Hi, I'm trying to take 2 kids from my daycare to see their dad before he gets deported. The mom cant do it because she has a restraining order against him. Is it possible to visit someone once they get picked up by immigration from jail? If so how and what do I need to do to make this happen? I'm trying to do this for the kids, they don't understand what is going on and they feel responsible, they are the ones that called 911. Mom has no problem with me doing this she just wants the kids to see that their father is OK.

I am assuming that your lawyer sent it by some means that can verify that it was delivered.
USCIS usually takes about 7-10 days to update it online. (for example, if your RFE response was delivered to USCIS on Aug 10, expect it to be updated around Aug 17-20).
If you do not see update after 15 days of the delivery of the RFE response, call USCIS customer service so they can track it for you.
