I am not sure about this but one thng can certainly happen with Admin Fix.
Porting of applicant who have stayed long enough in (EB3 to EB2). EB3 15 years experience and still counting and stuck and uncertain porting rules and AC21 doesn't make sense at all.
Or
AC21 rules or some other fix giving relief to people stuck in GC unnecessarily.
USCIs can make these fixes but they dont want to do it. Its simple

I wish more people had come to the advocacy event. They would have seen first hand what amount of hard work has been put in. The kind of commitment and personal sacrifices members have put in to not only get the ball rolling on the admin fixes but also building relationships on the hill.

I'm not from India.
The question is not whether America cares or not, its just about people (Indians) venting their frustration with the whole GC/retrogression issue.

We applied at TSC (e-filed) 2 weeks earlier than your and got a decision last week. So you probably could get a decision soon in about 2 weeks.

I think your company HR should get convinced for filing in EB2. The lawyer will hear what your company HR says. Yes its salary and designation that matters. I think a Senior with Masters and good salary can ask for filing in EB2. But if your HR by rule has decided that your position does not require Masters then you cannot file in EB2.
Most of the big companies have this rule. If you are with a small company and your access link to HR is not hard then you can convince them to consider for EB2.

Days when President started talking about fighting to make sure the immigration bill be passed, I felt even people who are here legally should get a fair chance. Not that it is a competetion for immigration, but its playing a fair game.
The immigration bill if passed, will come and stop at the same place where everyone of us are in now or even worse and pulls the whole system down.
I'm glad to see such a thing like immigration voice. This will make the law makers think with a broader mind.

I filed I-40 on June,1th 2007. My lawyer will file my I-485 & I-765 by July 1st. I'm currently on F1- status , When i can start working? do i get an authorization to work before approval of the I-40?

true, my green card was filled EB 3 Software Engineer, today I am an architect, jumped 3 level up . I dont know why you can't get promoted.
You can still get promoted while on H1B just don't give up hope. If you're not getting promoted even if you're performing well, then there's something fishy going on with your employer.

Many here are 'strongly against' those 'horrible' desi or whatever companies after getting an h1b through them. As we know most of the software consultants are here only because those companies could utlize the loopholes in the system. (We all know that this labor certification and such things are nonsense!). It is great to fight for 'legal' things but when you see those who misusd it themselves are 'fighting' for it, makes people feel so funny! We all know that what we all need is GC, whatever be the way, and whatever happens to 'others'. It is legitimate and understandable to fight for 'our cause', otherwise who will fight for us?

Spoke with Amit at USINPAC. Looks like the dude doesn't know any thing and might be a summer intern and Mr Robinder Sachdev is in India right now, I asked for his contact info and he doesnt have it right now. He is trying to get his contact information and also escalating with his higher ups. He said that he is receiving a lot of calls from IV members. Dont fire up on this guy. He is just taking calls. I told him that its unfair to grab/steal credit with out mentioning the source and also pointed out how IV has been renamed to Emigration Voice in the original story.
IV should have a own press release refuting their claims, if we do not hear from them in a day or two. That way we can expose them right away and stop them from doing so again in the future. Other wise, this might become a common thing for them

Texas is a great state...No hassle. My first H1-B is expiring in Feb 2008 and they renewed my driving licence for 5 more years till my birth day in 2013.
